Solution-Focused Therapy

Cost: For 100-300 level modules, $287.61 + HST = $325.00. For 400-500 level modules, $336.25 + HST = $380.00.

Early Bird Cost: For 100-300 level modules, $261.06 + HST = $295.00. For 400-500 level modules, $305.31 + HST = $345.00. Ends 30 days prior to start date.

Requirements: Participants must complete six modules to receive a Certificate. Completion of the Certificate requires SFT-110 (or equivalent), four elective modules and SFT-290, which includes a skill assessment component.

Overview: The Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) Certificate Program is directed at professionals in counselling, social work, psychology, family medicine, psychiatry, nursing and education as well as other human services professionals who wish to develop the clinical skills and knowledge necessary for solution-focused practice. SFT introduces participants to solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), a respectful, empowering approach to helping that builds on people?s existing strengths and resources to find solutions for a wide range of human difficulties. Participants can begin their program at any time. However, familiarity with basic solution-focused concepts is strongly recommended. In this Summer Institute program participants can complete three full modules in six days. The first module introduces the basic skills of solution-focused therapy. The remaining modules focus on the application of solution-focused methods to depression and suicide and to chronic illness and loss.

Please Note: Modules that are eligible for the CEU credit from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) are indicated individually below. Students are responsible for sending the necessary forms and payment directly to the CCPA. TAPE is not responsible for any additional fees required for certification.
