All of TAPE's programs and workshops are designed using a case-based learning approach with theory discussions being supported by real-life cases, scenarios and role-plays to bring trainees in contact with actual day-to-day challenges. Programs are developed and delivered by our extensive faculty of over 250 leading professionals and academics.

Cost: $299.00 + $14.95 (GST) = $313.95 per module (includes all materials)

Some of the modules of this program have been approved by the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation and count toward CACCF Continuing Education Units (15 CEU hours).

Requirements: Participants must complete six compulsory modules to receive a Basic Certificate or six compulsory modules + six elective modules to receive an Advanced Sequence Certificate. Module numbers ending with "C" indicate compulsory modules. To be eligible for the Advanced Sequence Certificate, participants must have a TAPE Basic Certificate in Addiction Studies or its equivalent.

Overview: The Addiction Studies (ADS) Certificate Program provides knowledge and skills to clinicians who wish to enhance their understanding of substance abuse and addiction problems. Both a Basic Certificate and an Advanced Sequence Certificate are offered (see above). Major areas of focus include assessment, referral, engagement skills, motivational treatments, evidence-based approaches and management of concurrent disorders. Participants observe demonstrations and have an opportunity to practise approaches in a workshop setting. The first module (ADS-110) is also available as one of our Online Programs (January 2008).
