On January 30, 2006 TAPE is attending the Focus on Public and Community Service Career Fair at Ryerson University ? a fair geared towards students seeking employment in the human and social services sectors. As part of our presentation, TAPE is holding a random draw for a Handheld palmOne, Tungsten | E2, Wi-Fi Pak - TFT Colour Display.

Draw Policies:
  • Individuals register in the draw by entering their contact information (name, phone number, email address and area of interest) on the sign-up sheets provided.
  • When individuals sign-up for the draw, they receive a TAPE Educational Services 2005-06 Academic Calendar with a number included on the back cover.
  • Individuals will be asked to copy down this number in the area provided beside their name on the sign-up sheet.
  • Individuals may only sign-up for the draw on one occasion.
  • By entering the draw, individuals provide TAPE the right to publicly disclose the name of the winner.

New Classroom Location:

"Modern, comfortable classrooms, leading-edge audio-visual equipment, and an on-site café and lounge."

TAPE is pleased to announce a change of venue for programs and workshops beginning in September 2005. We're moving from our facilities at St. Michael's College to the newly renovated School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. Located at 158 St. George Street and just steps from the St. George Subway Station, TAPE's new location is complete with modern, comfortable classrooms, leading-edge audio-visual equipment, and an on-site café and lounge. The building's design by acclaimed architects Raymond and Jason Moriyama is described by Lisa Rochon of The Globe and Mail as an example of an emerging Toronto style – "architecture that is human-sized, human-complex, human-warm."

Special offers and promotions:

We're offering four exciting promotions for students registering for classes in 2005-06. This year students who register with a friend, colleague or peer will receive a 10% discount on both registration fees. Also, those students who choose to pre-register and pay for 6 or more modules in one Certificate Program, will receive a 50% discount off a module in their next program. OASW members and St. Michael's College Blue Card Holders will continue to receive 10% discounts on their registrations, while a new Agency Staff Group Discount has been implemented whereby students receive a 15% discount when their agency registers and pays for 2 or more spaces in a module.

New Workshops and Programs:

For 2005-06 TAPE is offering over 25 new workshops and 3 new Certificate Programs. New, cutting-edge modules have been added to virtually all of our existing Certificates, while dynamic management workshops geared towards social sector managers and executives have been created to meet the need for leadership and management training in the sector. Management workshops can be found within the Management for Human Services Agencies Certificate Program, and under the Specialty Modules section of the Individually Tailored Certificate Program.

Also for 2005-06, check out our 2.5 day interactive Summer Institutes. Being held in August 2005, these workshops offer participants the chance to apply theoretical knowledge to practical experience. The lecture format will be enhanced with case-based, skill development learning opportunities in the form of case-discussions, role plays and standardized patient interviews.
